In the 90’s, I was working in a thrift store and came across a customer whose young toddler was sitting in a shopping cart, pretending to be reading a Message book (upside down).
I got so excited that I tore the book out of this child’s hand and said to the mother, “Do you believe this?” She responded to me with a question of her own. “Do you believe all of it, what he says in that Message?”
Without a doubt I believe everything, however, I wondered what she was referring to exactly. When she mentioned Bro. Joseph, I could hardly contain myself. As I was on shift, I told her emphatically that we needed to get together.
For years we kept in touch. She had six children and no car and no husband, so we would pick them up to bring to our place many times.
Eventually she lost interest, and I didn’t hear from her and had no way of contacting her. The last time we saw each other was in 2005 at Catch the Vision Tour in Saskatoon.
They were covered in prayer during all those years. Last week there was a message left on my phone in the early morning by her oldest daughter. She was crying and telling me that she really needed to talk with me.
Later that afternoon I picked her up, and she shared her testimony. She had been helping her son put the toys back in the toy box of a home where they were staying, and she thought it odd to find a Message book in there. She picked it out and the title was "The Token."
It was through tears and repentance that she kept reading it for a very long time. She gave her heart to the Lord and felt such peace that it has changed her life. She had been an alcoholic, but the Lord removed all desire from her to drink.
I asked her how her mom was. She told me to pray for her, as she drinks and has strayed. Yesterday morning her mom texted me in the early hours and said she had given her heart to the Lord. God is The Ultimate!
We love you all so very much and thank you for all what you do for us.
God richly bless you!
