Last Friday we called in a prayer request and this is a praise report:
This last week, eastern Oregon was hit with dry lighting that caused a lot of wildfires. With fires going on in a lot of neighboring towns and with winds at 30 miles per hour there is little that can be done. Right out of town, a creeper fire lit up and was heading to our little community. Ranchers' homes and cattle were in the direct line of fire, and the town got evacuation notices.
The kids and I got on our knees and prayed for God to take control and for His perfect will to be done while my husband was still on another mountain ridge with neighbors to check the situation. As we gathered up some of our most important documents and a few clothes, the kids kept asking if it was time to leave yet. I told them to just stand outside and watch that ridge. Watch if they could see the fire yet and to watch for the wind, for God will come on the scene and turn it. So my little girl asked, “How will He turn it?” I told her, “Just like Jesus walked on the water and Peter did too until he looked down and doubted it, God will take care of us! Don't doubt, but stand on that promise! There are so many people praying for us right now, and God always keeps His promise!"
God started to turn the wind and all the occupied houses were saved! Some of our neighbor’s rangeland burned up, and there might have been a few cows lost and the guardrail on part of the highway melted as the fire jumped the highway, but He came on the scene. Some of our neighboring towns and counties did not fare so well and lost homes, outbuildings, and some cattle.
Praise God for all He is doing for us every day! May God bless you and guide you is our daily prayer!
