A Worm In The Apple Theory

We received the following poem from a longtime friend incarcerated in Texas. This will certainly put a smile on your face.

There’s a worm in the apple theory;
Something just doesn’t quite fit.
The Truth has been skewed just a little,
And the facts have been stretched just a bit.

The serpent went walking in Eden
To have a conversation with Eve.
That beast was devious and subtle,
His intention, poor Eve to deceive.

He planted a doubt in poor Eve’s mind
That God didn’t mean what He said.
The results were more than rhetoric,
In the end, she would be dead.

Eve took of the fruit he offered.
Oh, it looked so good to her eyes!
The fruit, so pleasant, delightful;
She partook, now everyone dies.

There’s a worm in the apple theory.
When they “ate” it, it made them ashamed,
For they realized, then, they were naked,
So how could an apple be blamed?

If eating an apple brings knowledge
That too much skin is exposed,
We maybe should pass out some apples,
So folks would start wearing clothes.

The worm in the apple theory
Is the serpent, so subtle and sly.
His seed brought the fall in the garden;
He’s the reason men have to die.
