Special Delivery

Guyana is geographically located on the Caribbean coast in the Northeast portion of South America. The climate is tropical and generally hot and humid, and the country's transportation system is fractured in and around the five regions. Most of the roads are unpaved and routine maintenance is often neglected. Finding continuous highways and bridges linking to the next stop is challenging to say the least.

VGR representative Brother Paul Ross and the distribution team traveled to the remote jungles of western Guyana, into the villages of Toka and Rupunoa, to deliver a very special item to the Bride of Christ: The Agapao Tablet.

May 6th - 3:30am

The team consisting of myself, Paul Ross, Louis Andries, and Joseph Ross began the long journey to Toka Village. The rains have begun in our part of the world, where we are governed by just two seasons: dry and rainy.

The road to Toka is referred to as The Trail, mainly because it has never been paved, but is graded every year at the beginning of the dry season. When the rains start the road deteriorates, only to be graded again when the rains cease. We had received word that The Trail had already begun to go bad.

May 7th - 12:30pm

We left for Rupunao accompanied by Brothers Eugene Isaac, Pastor of the Toka Church, Ezra Isaac, and Elihu Isaac. On the way, we stopped at Sancreek where we met a mainly blind Brother Rocky whom it had been testified about in a previous report who accepted the Message, but is so far from any church that he listens the Message alone. His son-in-law and brother have begun to show interest in the Message and assist him. We gave him his very own Agapao Tablet and showed them how to use the device. One hour later, we were on our way again.

7:30pm - We arrived in Rupunoa and were immediately surrounded by the believers who all live nearby and had already received word of our journey to meet them.

A table had been placed outside the exit door, and the name of the head of a family was called. One by one they approached and were shown briefly how to turn the tablet on and off.

May 9th - 3:00pm

Although many of them have had Agapao Hero Edition tablets for years, a collective demonstration was done. After we distributed 21 tablets, I made sure that everyone knew how to operate the tablet and its main features. In some instances, they directed me! We took photos and ended another victory day in God’s program. Their library is well stocked thanks to visits over the years, but they were presented with supplement of materials they did not already have.

Despite the rains, the next day the church at Toka Village came out to an impromptu YF fun day, displaying the beautiful games that had been donated by VGR to them.

One Sunday 13th of May, a Communion service was held where the Seventh Seal was played. What a glorious end to our first Agapao distribution trip in Guyana!

At 4am the next morning, we were on our way out. The roads had become even more treacherous than a week ago, but we made it safely by the Grace of God.
