The Little Things

18 And therefore will the LORD wait, that he may be gracious unto you, and therefore will he be exalted, that he may have mercy upon you: for the LORD is a God of judgment: blessed are all they that wait for him.

Isaiah 30:18

The Word teaches us to praise the Lord in all things. We praise Him in the good times, and we praise Him in the hard times. Through our faith in God, we know that He wants the best for us, and if we can surrender ourselves to Him, then we will prosper.

We received the following testimony from a husband and wife, who praised the Lord for what they considered a “no.”

God bless you brothers and sisters. I have a small testimony that shows God is always watching over us. I and my husband work for FedEx and are commercial drivers. We drive all over the 48 states, and many loads we get are ones we have to bid on, and sometimes we’re awarded them and sometimes not. But one particular day we delivered our load in Colorado, and we were waiting for a load to come out that we could possibly pick up nearby. One finally did! It was only 16 miles (26km) away.

We put a bid on it, and were sure we’d get it because it was so close. But we got the call that we didn’t get it. After finding out we weren’t awarded the load, we both said, “God’s No’s are just as good as His Yes’s” and we decided to praise Him anyhow.

We took another look at our dispatch board to see if anything new came out, and they ended up giving that load to us anyhow. I don’t know how that even happened, but thank the Lord! We were willing to accept His “No” and praise Him anyhow, and He turned it around and sent us a “Yes.” It’s so nice to depend on Him and know He’s always watching out for us.
