Faith As A Child

You don’t have to travel up the Congo River or into the frozen reaches of Siberia to be a missionary. You can start in your own backyard.

In the ministry I--I think this morning, that it would be good for me to say this, to show you what an effect it has. The American people, you brethren, are in the hardest field there is anywhere. I've been in Africa, India, through, oh, practically the world over. But I--I have never seen a field so hard to battle as here, America. This needs missionaries worse than anywhere I ever seen in all my life.

I felt it on my heart to share a little testimony with you all and trust it will help someone in life's journey.

My wife and I have been blessed of the Lord to have four children (3 boys and 1 girl) and we are expecting our fifth child soon. God has been so good to us as my wife was told with her first pregnancy that it should be nearly impossible for her to get pregnant due to the shape of her womb. But God has healed her by His Grace!

Our oldest child, my daughter, is soon to be six years old and has become quite a witness for the Lord. She has such a burden for lost souls. We were driving by a park the other day, and she told me, "Dad, let's go witness at that park! I don't want to see those people lost and go to Hell!" We soon pulled into the parking area of the park and got out of our van. We all gathered in a circle and prayed we could be a witness. Then, my daughter and her three brothers each took a small handful of tracts and began walking toward the toys. As they got to the toys, they began giving the tracts to the kids playing there. Some of them looked at them in wonder with a look of "What is this?" Thankfully, some of the children took the tracts over to their parents, who were sitting nearby, and gave the parents the tracts. It seems like such a small way to witness, but I believe the Lord was pleased.

This last Sunday evening we went to another park in the area, and my four-year-old son was especially bold. We had just received a box of Witness Cards from VGR and he took a handful and was walking up to each adult he could find asking them, "Do you want a tract?" He kept coming back to my wife and I, asking for more. What a blessing it was to my wife and me to go to the Young Foundations website the next day and see the article on the teenage girls giving out witness cards at the Louisville Zoo.

I can't thank God enough for giving my children a burden for lost souls. I don't believe their efforts are in vain. Last year we were at a park in a predominantly Spanish speaking area, and my daughter had left Spanish Message books at the base of trees. I had told her she shouldn't put books on the ground, but my wife reminded me that she was thinking like a child, and other children would notice the books.

About 40 minutes later as we were preparing to leave the park, I noticed a man and his wife and three children leaving the park. The man was carrying a "Hermano Branham" Message book under his arm.

I want to thank the Lord Jesus Christ for blessing me with four witnessing buddies, soon to be five. They are such an inspiration to me, and I look forward to meeting on the other side those who have found a friend in Jesus because of my children's burden to see them saved.

Thank you Lord God for your unmerited blessings. Truly, children are a blessing from the Lord.

God bless you all my precious brothers and sisters. Aren't you glad that Voice crossed your path!
