I didn’t want to have my meter replaced. The gas company told us that they would cut our service off if we didn’t let them replace the old meter with the new one. I thought, “A new meter will probably be a higher bill,” but I gave in and it wasn’t long before I saw the gasman walking up my driveway.
He said his name was Peter, and he took me off guard when his next words were, “Will you pray for me?” I told him, “Absolutely, by all means, but how did you know I was a Christian?”
He responded, “I could tell.”
We talked for a while about the Lord Jesus. I gave him my testimony, and I mentioned God’s messenger, Brother Branham. He knew about Brother Branham and had the highest respect.
He said, “I knew it was providential that I could find someone like you. My wife, Lynn, is dying of cancer, and I put so much stock in prayer. I came across your ministry years ago and I knew he was a man of God.
I’m not supposed to even be talking about religion while working in my job, but would you and the saints of God in the Branham organization pray for my wife and me? We just want to be closer to God. If God takes her tomorrow, it’d be ok. He picks His flowers all the time.”
This whole situation was strange, but I can’t help but think that this man has something special in store for him.
