And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.

Romans 8:28

How many of us have gone through the day, running here and there, only to come back home and ask ourselves, “What did I accomplish today?” With all our efforts, have we wasted both our time and the Lord’s time? No, everything happens for a purpose. Though it seems we are just walking in circles, the Lord is guiding our every step.

This sister thought she had a bad day, running errands and not really getting anything accomplished. But in the end, she saw that she and her husband were doing something much more important than she ever thought. It took the words of her four-year old son to point this out.

Here is her testimony.

Sometimes we have days that are very stressful for us, and we forget that even in the midst of the stress, God is using us. Yesterday, was one of those days.I had to drive more than I usually do in one day. I had to take my husband an hour drive to an Apple store to see about getting his iPhone fixed. They wouldn't work on it because he'd changed the battery. Therefore, we drove an hour back home again, got the battery, went to a friend who changed the batteries, and then rushed back to the Apple store.

They opened it again and said they could tell something else had been tampered with, which my husband had to agree to. Because of this they said they wouldn't work on it. Then my husband looked up iPhone repairmen and found out there was one at a nearby mall. We quickly drove there and went in.

We were shocked at how much more ungodly this mall was and how sinful stuff was plastered everywhere, even having screens that were like movies to advertise. We sat and watched the people passing us and were grieved to see how bad most of them looked.

Finally the iPhone was fixed and we went to Taco Bell (a fast-food restaurant). There my husband realized something else was still wrong, even though the phone now worked. We returned to the mall and tried to see if we could get that problem addressed also. This time, there were too many ahead of us to fit us in before the end of his work day. We left and ran a few more errands.

When we pulled up at home the sun was set. As we were getting out, my four year old son said, "Mommy, do you know what we did today?" I said, "Yes, we did lots of driving." He said, "No, we got to go on a missionary trip." I said, "Really?" He said, "Yes, don't you know what a missionary trip is? Didn't you give out some of those witnessing cards? Well that makes it a missionary trip." I was touched to hear that as I had just thought it was a long stressful day, he helped me to see it in a different light.

God bless you.
