The Light Of The World

Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.

Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house.

Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.

Matthew 5:14-16

Moses was in Him. Joshua was in Him. And if you are in Him, you was in Him before the foundation of the world, the family of God; you suffered with Him, you died with Him, you went to the cross with Him, you raised with Him; and now you're still with Him, setting in Heavenly places, reflecting the Message of the age to the world, the Light of the world.

What does it mean to be a Christian? It means that we are the light in a dark world, reflecting the attributes of the Lord Jesus Christ. Our light doesn’t just shine on our family or our brothers and sisters in church, it also shines to the person on the street, the waitress at the table, and our colleagues at work.

This young lady felt a burden for a fellow coworker. The Lord heard her prayers, and He showed that His light is as alive today as it has ever been.

Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever! The same miracles He worked at Brother Branham’s meetings, He is still doing for us here today. We just have to believe! I say this because God has showed me this twice here recently, and I want to share a testimony to give all the glory to our amazing God!

My coworker, and close friend of mine, found out she was pregnant about June of last year. It was joyous news, but it brought a lot of worry for her. This would be her third child, and she knew she was in for a bumpy ride. Tenisha was diagnosed in her youth with severe thyroid issues. It made her first two pregnancies quite difficult. But this time, it was worse. Her thyroid stopped working, and if you may not already know, that can kill you. In order to preserve her own life, she was forced to take high doses of thyroid medications, putting a lot of hormones into her system, which not only affected her, but the baby as well.

As time went on during the development of her little one, the symptoms of her thyroid disease started to act up. The hormones being produced by the baby and the hormones by the medication she was on was causing her lots of pain, nausea, moodiness, exhaustion, etc. But being the trooper she is, she went on with little complaints. When the time arrived for her gender determination ultrasound, they found she was having a little boy, and she picked the name Xavier. Call it crazy, but every day that went by, from the moment she found out she was expecting, the bond I felt with little Xavier grew and grew, and I became known as Aunt-T.

About seven months into the pregnancy, they suspected that her thyroid and medication she was on could be affecting Xavier. They sent her to a specialist to do a thyroid ultrasound on Xavier and check his development. The news wasn’t too good. They told her that he had a goiter. They said that when he was born that they could do thyroid surgery to remove it, or let go and do it about six months old. They also told her that he would probably have thyroid issues as well. She was a little discouraged when she told me about it. I told her we are going to trust God and pray this thing out. We all prayed constantly and held tight to our faith. Every time someone asked her about it, and I heard them, I would tell them it was already gone because we had faith in our prayers.

A few weeks later she went back to specialist to repeat the ultrasound… and they couldn’t find anything on his thyroid! He was developing just perfectly! Her due date was January 5th, 2014, but little Xavier decided he wanted to be a Christmas baby, and came happy and healthy December 25th, 2013.

Well, that pesky devil decided he wanted to try something else.

Xavier started to lose weight, not able to keep any food down, and not sleeping. The doctor put him on medication for reflux a couple weeks ago. He had a follow up yesterday because nothing was helping. Due to his symptoms they sent him for an abdominal ultrasound. They diagnosed him with pyloric stenosis, which is swelling at the opening of the stomach, which prevents him from being able to get any food down. They immediately admitted him into the Children’s Hospital to be prepared for surgery.

We were all so very worried. In the middle of my worry I thought back to God healing him from that goiter. I immediately sent an urgent prayer request message to every believer I knew. I read several verses in the Bible about faith and the promise Jesus made that if we have faith we can have whatever we ask. I constantly reminded myself, “GOD KEEPS ALL HIS PROMISES! Xavier will be just fine.”

They made it to the hospital about 7:45pm. They got checked in and hooked him up to an IV, poor guy hadn’t had any food for quite some time, and the wait began. They didn’t do anything all night, and by 9am our patience was close to the breaking point. We all wondered how come they had not done the surgery yet. His stomach was obviously empty for as long as he had been waiting, so what is taking them so long?

I got a text around 10am that said they were doing another ultrasound on his abdomen before they took him to surgery… well… GOD IS STILL SO GOOD! THEY COULDN’T FIND ANYTHING WRONG! They packed my little guy up and sent him on home.

May God richly bless you all for your work to spread God’s Message to His predestinated seeds!

Sincerely,

Sister Tia
