Revival

About two months ago, I tried several times to post this testimony, but every single time, something would come up and I would not be able to post it. It has been almost as long since I have been on this website, and much more can be added to the testimony.

At my church, last year, we started a school so that all of the young people would not have to go out into the public school system... The first year was kind of rough, but we made it through better than when we started, and from the beginning of summer, it was my prayer that a revival would come in our school, then go over into my church, then just keep on spreading. It may sound like an extravagant prayer, but God can do anything. I found this out for myself the beginning of January.

I had just come through a rough week of not serving God as I ought to, and honestly, I'm going through the exact same struggle right now. I was in dire need of something great to happen in my life. Something did indeed happen, and I would like to share it with all believers so that you can be reminded that God is an ON TIME God!

On Friday morning, the middle school (7th&8th) had been discussing what they were going to do for our next chapel service. (Each week, a class does a little something before the speaker comes out.) Their teacher was inspired to have everyone give a testimony about something the Lord had done in their lives. They had all been discussing it, and, apparently, their teacher had had to talk to a few of the students privately. While she was talking to those students, she told the other ones to write down their testimony so that she could look them over.

When she came back into the classroom, there was one person that hadn't already shared his testimony with everyone in the class, so she asked if she could read it aloud. The boy (who was her son) had written about how he had wanted to come to the school the year before and they didn't have the money or transportation, but he prayed for them both, and he was sponsored and could ride with a sister that lived in their neighborhood. When she started reading it to herself first, she was like, "This isn't really a testimony, are you sure you want me to read it?"

He was like, "Uh, yeah." In his mind, it was a perfectly good testimony. When she read it out loud, it was a totally different story. The letter was talking about this boy’s struggle with music. It was saying that he struggled with many other things, but music was his main struggle. It also said that he was nothing without God and prayer, and that God could deliver him if he would just ask.

He did not write that letter; God wrote that letter so that we could have a revival. After the teacher read it, Luke (the boy) and she had a conversation privately for a moment, then came back and shared the story with the class. The class went into prayer for close to an hour and a half. About halfway through that time, they all saw a bright light flash above them. At the same time, in our classroom next door, the lights flickered.

About 10:20 or so, they came into our classroom (9th-12th) and shared everything that had been going on. When they were giving the testimony, they included a few things that may be small to others, but were a miracle for us. A certain young man that is never serious, and, as far as outwardly, never tries to serve God or be serious about God, said that it was just like John 14:14. Well, everyone was like, "What's John 14:14?" This is what it says: "If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it." For a few minutes, we all just sat there silently crying and praying. One student was inspired to have the rest of them join high school again for prayer. A young man had been about to share a scripture with his teacher, so he brought it to all of us instead. Psalm 30:1-5 says, "I will extol thee, O LORD; for Thou hast lifted me up, and hast not made my foes to rejoice over me. O LORD my God, I cried unto thee, and Thou hast healed me. O LORD, Thou hast brought up my soul from the grave: Thou hast kept me alive, that I should not go down to the pit. Sing unto the LORD, O ye saints of His, and give thanks at the remembrance of His holiness. For His anger endureth but a moment; in His favour is life: weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning."

After he read that scripture, we all got on our knees in the classroom and prayed and worshiped and literally had a revival in our classroom! Just from the reading of that Scripture, our teacher was healed from a pain that she thought she was going to die from. During our prayers, people were delivered from diverse things. Personally, I was delivered from ungodly images coming into my mind and from perverse thinking. The next two weeks of services in our church were literally REVIVAL services, and though we had gone back to the way it was before, we are, yet again, going into a REVIVAL time!

I sincerely hope this testimony is a blessing to all who read it. May God RICHLY bless you!

A sister in Christ
