I too will like to share with you an incident that happen to me recently. Though I’m unworthy, the Lord came on the scene. On the 11th of September 2012, I had a minor traffic accident where I had to pay to fix someone’s vehicle. Following that, on the 2nd of October, 2012, I was on my way to pick up my son from school. Normally the route I would take would have been crawling traffic at that time of the day, but on that occasion the traffic was following smoothly.
On approaching an intersection in the direction I was going, I saw two traffic wardens. Well I thought to myself, I have nothing to worry about, I have my seat belt, my insurance is in order etc., so I moved on.
Just as soon as I crossed the intersection, a female officer motioned to me to pull over. I was quite puzzled, then she said to me, “Sir you have just fast broken a no entry sign.’’ In amazement, I asked, “where?” She said, “No traffic is allowed between 3:00pm to 6:00pm. License and insurance.”
I then in disbelief started to look for my vehicle insurance. She then said, “The fine is one thousand dollars.” When I heard that all I could mutter is, “Lord Jesus, intervene.”
She again demanded, “License and insurance!” I said, “Ok Miss. I am a law abiding citizen. I have it.” Saints, studying my recent expense, I said, “When it rains, it pours.” While handing her the documents, out of nowhere I saw a white van coming from the opposite diction and stop a distance behind me: another traffic warden who was senior to them.
He approached us, looking up and down the street, and said to me,“Boss, I know you are under some stress, but this is time we will give you a ‘Bligh.’” In our country that means, “We will ease you up.”
On hearing that, I only could only say, “Praise the Lord Jesus.” The female officers then told me to be careful and observe the signs, and handed me my documents, directing me to proceed in a side road.
The Lord indeed, when I least expected it, was a very present help in the time of need.
God bless you all
