Witness

Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.

I Corinthians 15:58

Sometimes we get discouraged when no matter how many Message books or CDs we give out, or how many people we witness to, it seems that it always falls on deaf ears. But that should never discourage us. This testimony is an encouragement to us all to keep it up; there is still fertile ground out there where our seeds will take root.

This article (Encouragement, posted on December 10) brought to my remembrance a dream that I had a few years ago that I believe came from the Lord. I had been witnessing to a lady that I had met through work, but it just didn't seem as if she was receiving and I was sad that my efforts didn't seem enough. I had witnessed to several people recently about the Message with the same results.

So one night, I had a dream that I was in a beautiful meadow with trees and lush grass and a bubbling brook running through it. In the center of the meadow was a very large, beautiful tree and I was so at peace and happy to be there. I looked around and realized that the meadow didn't have any flowers, so I pulled seeds out of my pocket and started throwing them into the breeze. I watched in dismay as many of the seeds landed in rocky areas near the brook. I knew that nothing would come of them and I started to cry.

Just then a voice spoke and told me to look up. I did and in an area, not far from the water and the tree, were beautiful flowers growing from the seeds I had sown. The voice said not to be discouraged. Many of the seeds would land in areas where they could not grow, but some would. Just keep sowing seeds. It was just like the parable of the seeds in the Bible and was such an encouragement to me to keep sharing my faith.
