Letter From Overseas
November 1996
As cold waters to a thirsty soul, so is good news from a far country.
There are those who would question just how long a healing last? Brother Branham said it lasts just as long as your faith does! In the Message, Thou Son Of David, Have Mercy On Me he prays:
“Our heavenly Father, we are so glad that You answer prayer; so glad to find after many years, meeting the people from way back in ‘46 and ‘47, still healed, when they were dying with cancer, crippled in wheelchairs, blind, couldn't see. And here they are here shaking my hand, saying, “Brother Branham, I was crippled; “I was blind;” “I was given up with cancer, and I’ve never had a sick day since.
O Lord, we know that could only be Your grace to them. We’re so happy for this, and we pray, God, that others that are suffering today will remember that You are the same yesterday, today, and forever.”
It’s always good to receive letters from overseas, but recently I received a letter from a brother who was healed in Brother Branham’s South Africa meeting in 1951, which, together with his testimony as it appeared in William Branham A Prophet Visits South Africa, I would like to share with you:
Dear Brother Billy: Greetings in the wonderful name of Jesus our Lord.
The last time I saw you was in East London, South Africa, 15th Nov. 1951. You gave me a prayer card, and the rest is in the Book, A PROPHET VISITS SOUTH AFRICA (see page 182 G.R.)
Please try to help me! Where can I get some of your tapes and the latest news concerning the work? Have you any magazines or newsletters?
The last time I received literature was in 1965, “The Spoken Word.” I must have about 50 books. These I received from the Transvaal 1959-1965. It is so wonderful to listen to the tapes because of the anointing.
Trusting to hear from you; praying for you and the work. Special greetings in His love.

Asthma For Twenty-Four Years
I would like to praise the Lord for His wonderful healing power which took place at the Branham campaign in East London on the 15th of November. I had suffered from asthma for twenty-four years, since the age of three. But I praise and thank the Lord that He did not only heal me physically but also spiritually.
My healing took place the first night of Brother Branham’s visit. My faith was so strengthened that I was healed without the Brother praying for me. The Spirit of the Lord was so mighty among us that all I had to do was ask.
The last night of the Branham campaign I asked the Lord to have Brother Branham say something to me. He did. He said that I had suffered from asthma and that the Lord had healed me. I rejoice now in the Lord and promise to serve Him to the end.

I am sure this brother often looks back to those meetings in South Africa, remembering with joy how the Lord Jesus healed him of this asthmatic condition. We have put him in contact with Voice Of God Recordings’ office in the Republic Of South Africa, and they will be supplying him with books and tapes.
Brother Billy Paul Branham
Dear Christian friends:
I would like thank my brother, Billy Paul, for sharing with us this letter he received from a brother in the Republic of South Africa.
Today, Brother Branham’s Message is still being heard throughout not only South Africa, but the entire African continent. Thousands of cassettes have been sent into almost every nation of Africa, reaching many times more people than was possible during Brother Branhams meetings 45 years ago.
I would like to thank you for your support of the work of Voice Of God Recordings, that has made this possible, and without which, there would be no overseas offices to which we could refer people such as this brother.
Because you will receive this Lifeline in December, I have included, on the reverse side of this issue, a portion of Brother Branham’s Message, Only One True Living Church, which he preached in Erie, Pennsylvania on July 27, 1951. It recounts the birth of Jesus Christ so beautifully, as only Brother Branham can. I trust it will be a real blessing to you, as it was to me.
God bless you this Christmas Season and always.
Brother Joseph M. Branham
The Christmas Story
When along came the virgin born, Divine Son of God, and He was God’s provided lamb, provided Sacrifice, Jehovah-Jireh, the provided One... And as He was born, and the people of that day, of His day, especially the religious people, did not believe Him, because He never come in a classical way that they expected Him. But He came humble, born in a manger, wrapped in swaddling’s cloth.
There was no singing at His birth, as there is a king’s birth. Mortals, when a king is born, the people sing and have jubilee. But there was no king--no people to sing at this King’s birth. But the Angels came down and sang to the shepherds, “...In the city of David is born Christ the Saviour.”
And some Magis who seen a--a phenomenal, a star, and they had... They even had many more observatories then than we have today, because each city had it’s own observatory, and they kept the time by the stars.
The watchman stood on the tower in the observatory and he watched the star. You remember, “What time is it?” he asked the watchman. He said, “The day cometh and night.” They watched the stars, and they knew about what time it was. But this, now notice, this magic, as we'd put it, so even children could understand it, mysterious light came over every one of those observatories, across from the Orient. It said, “We have seen His Star in the east.”
But His Star wasn't in the East to them. They were in the east, looking west towards Palestine, and saw His Star. And none of the observatories, none of the historians or so forth has anything written of it, or no man in that day saw the star, except the Magi, and it led them to the Christ. It was God’s provided compass.
And those men happened to be the lineage of Ham, Shem, and Japheth, the three sons of Noah. And they came and offered gifts to the Son of God. And He said in Matthew 24, “When the gospel has been preached to all the kindreds, tongues, and nations, then the end shall be.” When the fathers, who came forth in commemoration of His birth and laid down gold, frankincense, and myrrh to worship Him, then when all their children has heard the message of the Gospel...
Now, the Gospel, commonly believed, is the Word of God, and that is true in one sense. But the Word of God is not Gospel alone. The Word of God is the Seed that produces the Gospel. Jesus said a sower went forth and sowed seed. And some fell onto the stony places, and some fell by the wayside, and the fowls of the air devoured them. Some fell upon thorny thistle ground; some went over and brought a hundred fold.
