South Africa Missionary Report

Brother Keith Herne, VGR Manager in South Africa, recently returned from a missionary trip in a remote area of South Africa.

This is my report on the recent trip that I went on to the Alice in the Eastern Cape.

Alice is a picturesque town nestled in the hollows of the surrounding mountains in what was previously known as Ciskei.

I had some time to explore the villages in the neighborhood and saw the distances that the believers had to travel by foot to get to church. I saw the river that was used for baptism, and I also saw a burnt down house of a sister that was destroyed while she was attending a church service. It happened a week ago when she came home, all she owned was burnt out. I also visited the home of a pastor who is blind and his wife is also blind.

I arrived in Alice after a three-hour drive from Port Elizabeth. A meeting was arranged at the university called Fort Hare with the brothers. They came from as far as two hundred kilometers to attend the meeting and to see what material was available for them. They were in total thirty-three pastors and twelve representatives of pastors that could not make it. The meeting was to commence at 7:00pm, but because of the road conditions it started two hours later.

I told them that the reason I came to them was to bring Brother Branham to them. I said that I am blessed to be bringing them the only truth, and not something like the truth. I said this is God’s only provided way and not another way. I also told them that in order to become God’s Message is to listen to God’s messenger. I placed the emphasis on the listening to the Voice.

I had the names of the pastors and the quota of the material in the different languages and packed the boxes in rows for them. They were elated when they saw the books because most of them did not have any. The same excitement carried over when I handed over the Light House packages. The meeting concluded towards midnight.

The following morning the brothers arranged a meal for me before I took the road home.

This gave me an opportunity to see the church of Alice. It was just a make shift enclosure in the front garden of one of the believers.

After seeing the poverty that these believers had to endure daily, it made me realize how needful it is to get this Message to them as soon as possible because it is the only way out for them. They were not ashamed to show their love for Brother Branham and their appreciation for the material.

The one brother just called me and said how the people appreciated the visit and the material that they have received, and he is receiving continuous text messages of the same nature.

The total distance for the round trip was 2076 kilometers.

Thanks and God Bless.
