Letters From Prisoners

Like usual, the prison mailbag is overflowing. Here are a few excerpts of letters from prisoners!

Seems everyone here knows about the TV putting down the Message. Where we have our services there is another group with a preacher that comes in for them and he is always talking down about us. Seems the more he talks down the Message the more people come and ask us what it’s about. We just give them a book and say, see for yourself. Well this week he was talking about the news investigating the Message and you guys, and telling the guys not to go over to us, as even the news says they are wrong. Well praise the Lord after service we gave out more books than ever, he just made them all hungry and we were able to give them the Truth. So take heart nobody can say anything against this Message without God turning it around on them!

I saw a Spanish inmate sitting at the table just crying, I felt so bad for him but I know no Spanish but my heart went out to him. I just had to walk over and do something. I gently put my hand on his shoulder and he looked up at me with tear filled eyes. I tried to say to him, “Can I help?” Another inmate that knew some Spanish tried to help, but all we could get was him saying, “The word God.” Well another one came and said, “He is saying this book is God.” I looked at the book, but I could not make head or tail out of it (the book was in Spanish). I don’t know if it was the situation or what, but I had a strange feeling come over me. It was enough to make me write to you and ask if you would send me this book on Church Ages, and please in English.

I wanted to thank you for including us inmates in Quiet Time. You can imagine the first time you sit or kneel down at the appointed time and you come to the realization that around the world believers are doing the exact same thing. The first time it just sent shivers up my spine to think of the magnitude of what is taking place, now I just raise my hands and thank the Lord for His mercy to me.

A loved one had you send your book, Church Ages, to me. I guess I’m slow but I was reading and thought, “This guy’s a little rough in his speaking.” And kind of criticized the wording. I guess I was not hearing what was being said. For some reason I started over and then all of a sudden, I sat back and said, “Wow, this is like God’s speaking right to me.”

Brother Branham, I write to tell you thank you for being here with me. I will be getting out sometime soon and, if it was not for you, I don’t think I would have made it. You gave me hope and made me feel that I am worth something; I was worth the life of Jesus Christ… Someday, I want to shake your hand and tell you thanks.

Brothers, I thank you and will never be able to repay you for what you have given me. I came here knowing no other life than a life of crime. Brother Branham taught me of another life, the Life of my Lord Jesus Christ. I will be released from here but I will never be released from the Life of my Christ. Thank you for being there and for caring.

I have been a Bible student for many years, and then in 07’ someone gave me The Church Ages by Brother Branham. I have read and re-read over and over again this book. Each and every time I read it, I have to go back to my Bible to see what I read. Over these years the Bible has become a new Book to me or I should say has become the Word of God to me, before it was just a book. Brother Branham breathed life into it for me. I have removed everything from my cell except for the Church Ages and my Bible, and I believe now I am ready for any other books you feel lead to send me. This is truly the Word of God.
