More than 60 million people are in the path of a 900-mile wide mega-storm that is scheduled to make landfall this evening on the northeast coast of the United States. It has the potential to be one of the worst storms ever to strike this country, and we ask that believers around the world go to prayer for those who are in its path.
Hurricane Sandy has 90mph winds that extend 175 miles from its core. Waves in excess of 40ft are now being measured out in the Atlantic. This could result in a storm surge of 8-10ft in New York City, where there are already high tides because of the full moon. To make matters worse, Sandy will soon merge with a winter storm, producing 2-3ft of snow in the mountains and heavy rain. According to some forecasters, Hurricane Sandy is the largest tropical storm ever recorded in the Atlantic because of its enormous 900-mile wide size, and it is showing no signs of weakening. Many of the low-lying areas of the eastern seaboard have been evacuated in anticipation to what forecasters are calling “the perfect storm.”
For the thousands of believers who are in the path of this storm, we would like you to know that we are standing with you in prayer. Our Lord is more than able.
