The Little Things

Most of us have been there. A leaking faucet, backed-up sink, or broken toilet; all these things can be very intimidating for those of us who have no plumbing experience.

This sister may not be a plumber, but she knew who to go to when everything else failed.

Brothers and Sisters of like precious faith. I have read many testimonies on the VGR website through the years, and have been blessed and grown in faith by doing so. Today I would like to share with you how my faith was put to the test a couple weeks ago.

12Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.

13And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.

14 If ye shall ask anything in my name, I will do it.

St. John 14:12-14

Back in the spring of this year, it became needful for us to purchase a new toilet replacement. Our plumber friend came and installed it for us. About three weeks ago, the toilet stopped working. I contacted our plumber friend to see if he could come check it out. At the time, he was very backed up with other jobs and could not come.

I remembered reading different testimonies of other believers who experienced similar situations, and how they by faith laid hands on an appliance or an engine, and how those things started for them. As I laid my hand on the back of the toilet, in my heart I said, “Father, I am coming to You, asking by faith in the Name of my Lord Jesus Christ, asking You to fix my toilet.” Then I thanked Him for hearing my prayer, and walked out.

Thankfully, we have two bathrooms. A couple days later, I was cleaning the bathroom where I had prayed for the toilet. Without thinking if it would work or not, I flushed the toilet after cleaning it, and it worked perfectly. I had to stop cleaning the bathroom to give thanks, honor and glory for witnessing what my Lord Jesus Christ had done for me.
