Giving Thanks 2017

Saturday, November 18 at Still Waters Camp, our annual “Giving Thanks” dinner provided us the occasion to lay out the red carpet for our much-loved elders. They have fought the battle for many years, maintaining their faith and stand for this Message that we all hold so dear. We were excited to show them some much deserved appreciation.

Many of these saints were direct converts and witnesses of the Message Brother Branham brought us. They saw and heard for themselves the revealed Word for our day, and they shared this Gospel Message with their children, who shared it with their children, and so on. Now, there is a new generation of Message children who have been given the privilege to hear and receive this life-giving Word, and this special day was their opportunity to say Thank You. Without these saints of God, many of us wouldn’t be here today. For that we give thanks to God for their faithful lives and testimonies.

The announcement for this year’s “Giving Thanks” dinner was made weeks before, “calling all local sisters,” and the countless hours of preparations began; planning, shopping, cooking, cleaning, and more cooking and cleaning! As the day approached, the brothers pulled every leaf around the welcome center and fluffed every pile of mulch. Decorations were put in place, food was cooked to perfection, and our guest were ready to be served.

There was a wonderful atmosphere inside the Still Waters welcome center from the moment the elders walked through the doors. It created a blessed time of fellowship, while they indulged in some delicious, home-cooked Thanksgiving food. They also enjoyed listening to the young musicians play instrumental background melodies throughout the afternoon.

Being that the event was held as Still Waters, we couldn’t go without some campfire style singing from Brother William and a little roasting from Brother Joseph. The mood was just right, and it was topped off with some scrumptious Thanksgiving pie!

It was evident that our special guests were having a GREAT time, and we’re pretty sure we could have led right into a week-long Still Waters Camp!

After acknowledging all of the hard work and dedication of the many young sisters who made this event possible, Brother Joseph sealed up the evening with a few encouraging words. The happy, full and blessed elders gathered their special “take-home” treat and were on their way.

We thank the Lord for His precious saints, and we pray our testimonies will display the same Gospel Message that they have witnessed before us.
