The First One Through

Everything has a beginning. Sin started in Heaven, then spread to the Garden of Eden when Eve opened the door to reason. From that point, we’ve seen the enemy pervert the blessings of God into his own Satan’s Eden.

One of the most obvious perversions that the devil has given to the world is music. David wrote in the Psalms:

Make a joyful noise unto the LORD, all the earth: make a loud noise, and rejoice, and sing praise.

Psalm 98:4

What we hear today is a far cry from the Psalms of the Bible. Now, we almost can’t walk outside without being bombarded by whispers from the devil. It’s in department stores, gas stations, and even cars driving by with their windows open. But where did all this start?

Brother Branham said,

Look back yonder a few years ago when the first song come out. You older people, when the... They used to censor songs before they'd let them be sung on the radio. And the first one come out was that "Roll 'em Girlies, roll them; showing your pretty knees." And all like that. "Laugh at Pa and Ma, and give 'em all a ha-ha-ha." That's the first one they let slip through.

It was a song called “Roll 'em Girls, Roll 'em” that got it started in 1925. The song supports irreverence in young women, tells them to cut their hair, and most of all, encourages them to show off more of their bodies. Brother Branham said that this was the first song that they let through, and look what it has come to today.

It might seem harmless by today’s standards, but here is the song that opened the door.

Roll 'em Girls, Roll 'em

Listen girls, listen girls, I've a word for you.

Just because "you're up to date," and do the things you do.

Don't let anyone tell you, that you don't act nice.

Why, you're as sweet as Grandma was, so take my advice.

Roll 'em girls, roll 'em.

Go ahead and roll 'em,

Roll 'em down and show your pretty knees.

Roll 'em girls, roll 'em.

Ev'rybody roll'em.

Roll 'em high or low just as you please.

Don't let people tell you that it's shocking.

Paint your sweetie's picture on your stockings.

Laugh at ma, laugh at pa, Give them all the haha.

Roll 'em girlies, roll 'em, roll your own!

Roll 'em girls, roll 'em.

Go ahead & roll 'em.

Roll 'em down and please the traffic cops.

Roll 'em girls, roll'em, ev'rybody roll 'em,

When you cross the street, the traffic stops!

Even grouchy traffic cops get jolly,

When they see you step into a trolley.

Red lights on, red lights off, cops are only human.

Roll 'em girlies, roll 'em, roll your own.

Listen girls, listen girls, when you bobbed your hair,

You were criticized a lot, but still you didn't care!

When you shortened your dresses, you gave us some shocks,

But we never thought that soon, you'd be wearing socks!

Roll 'em girls, roll 'em.

Go ahead and roll 'em,

In the winter, summer, spring or fall.

Roll 'em girls, roll 'em, everybody roll 'em,

Anywhere or time or place at all.

Young girls, old girls, sweethearts, wives and mothers,

Young maids, old maids, even our grandmothers.

High or low, rain or snow, girlies must be stylish.

Roll 'em girlies, roll 'em, roll your own.

Roll 'em girls, roll 'em.

Go ahead and roll 'em,

Roll 'em where you think they look the best.

Roll 'em girls, roll 'em, everybody roll 'em,

Roll 'em north and south and east and west!

Nowadays you girlies have your freedom.

Don't wear things if you don't think you need 'em.

Laugh at ma, laugh at pa, Give them all the haha.

Roll 'em girlies, roll 'em, roll your own!
