Stand Still

We all have those days when nothing seems to go right, but praise the Lord, we have a Master who can calm the storms of life.

Here are a few scripture verses that we hope will encourage you today.

The LORD shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace.

Exodus 14:14

Fear thou not; for I [am] with thee: be not dismayed; for I [am] thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.

Isaiah 41:10

Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth.

Psalms 46:10

In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.

Proverbs 3:6

And whosoever shall give to drink unto one of these little ones a cup of cold water only in the name of a disciple, verily I say unto you, he shall in no wise lose his reward.

Matthew 10:42

These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.

John 16:33

Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.

Philippians 4:8

Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.

1 John 4:4

Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.

1 Peter 5:7

When the crunch was on, this family stood still and saw the Lord’s hand move everything just right.

My husband and I would like to share with you how wonderful God has been to us. He is there for us all the time, but sometimes it is just so plain and so phenomenal, that you are just stunned at how simple God makes it look.

After living in one place for 37 years, we had decided to move from a farm into town. From a family of seven children, sixteen grandchildren and three great grandchildren, our barn became storage for family and friends. Well, the day arrived to leave our home. We had been packing and sorting for about three months, and on the day to leave I was very upset and frustrated. I phoned Dawnie (one of the new owners) to tell her it doesn't look like I have moved anything, and I was very emotional. She said don't worry about it, it will work out.

Prayer is what I needed to do, so I asked God to please send someone to help us move all this stuff. We had no idea how or who we could get to give us a hand. It just looked so impossible, but we knew that God could do anything. As we were rushing to pack as much as possible in the last hour before we had to leave, along came Dawnie and Ben, the new owners, and said, “Don't worry we will unload all our things onto the lawn and tarp it, and load all your things on the truck we rented and take yours to town to unload it when we take the truck back.”

It was an hour drive to town from there, so they spent a few hours by the time we got things loaded and moved. When we tried to pay them for all their time and part of the truck, they said absolutely not, they wouldn't even consider it. Not only that, they let us come back and get other things we didn't get, but Dawnie even brought two or three car loads to town for us in her car. We just want to give God all the Praise and Glory for how quickly He moved on the scene. We just marvel every day and thank Him for His goodness and mercy and loving kindness.

God Bless you.
