With heavy hearts we announce the passing of our dear brother and friend, Bolahs Onyango, Voice Of God Recordings’ country manager for Uganda, East Africa. He is survived by his wife, Sister Stella, and six children ranging in age from 29 to 2.
As Christians, we long for that wonderful Land beyond the River, and we are truly rejoicing with our brother for he has finished the course. However, for the family and friends that remain, we cling to many precious memories, and pray for strength that only our Lord can give during this most difficult time.
Brother Bolahs became a lending library representative for VGR in 2001, and was elected as country manager by the majority of VGR representatives in Uganda late in 2004. He was very instrumental in traveling throughout Uganda with Brothers Barnabas Kariuki and Obadiah Kamwati, gathering information for the best locations for additional lending libraries so as to better serve the Bride of Christ in Uganda.
Our brother traveled to America and was with the brothers on the Catch The Vision Tour in August of 2005. They made stops in Genoa IL, Winnipeg Manitoba Canada, Saskatoon Saskatchewan Canada, Rapid City SD, Denver CO, and Kansas City KS, before returning home to Jeffersonville. Brother Bolahs made many new friends on this trip, and most definitely had a positive impact on the people, for they truly loved him and what he had to share about our Lord. He passed away from lymphoma.
Although this will certainly be a setback to the work in Uganda, we have complete confidence in our Lord Jesus Christ that He will lead, guide, and direct our path. We will work till Jesus comes.
Brothers and Sisters, we would sincerely appreciate your prayers for Sister Onyango, the family, and friends of our brother.
